Not Skateboard, Not Snowboard, Either
The recent weather has been so unstable. Sometimes there would be sudden temperature drops, taking us back to the mid-winter, or sometimes the temperature would surge as if it were mid-summer . On the last weekend of April, taking a chance that it would be a fine day, we headed down to the beach, the first beach going this year. As usual we went to Santa Cruz. It was only a month ago when Casey and dragon enjoyed their second time snow sporting at Bear Valley. I felt strange now we were at the beach. The cozy weather brought more and more people into the beach.
Dragon, this time, instead of a snowboard, played on a skimboard. What you do is, at the edge of water, throw the board onto the receding water, run after it and hop on to it. It makes you feel like instantly becoming a surfer. I suppose skimboarking is along the line of skateboarding or snowboarding since dragon made it look very easy to ride. Skateboard, snowboard, skimboard... I wonder what board comes next.
Our stay at the beach wasn’t very long. We had a late start. After having a snack at a fancy bakery that we had found on our way, we headed home. While driving along the coastline, I could not believe my eyes when we saw a numerous number of surfers floating, waiting for a wave. Even the ocean was densely populated that day.
