元旦も大忙し Again, Busy, Busy New Year’s Day
Finally the year turned and 2010 has arrived. On the first day, we invited the family of Maido-Etsuko-san (the U family) for a nabe party. Again our house was messy from the aftermath of Chrismas fun and had to at least look neat. Here we were again, busy cleaning from the morning. After all, inviting people gives us a good motivation for cleaning. All the ingredients of nabe were supposed to be brought by the U family, making it possible for us to focus on cleaning. We also made banana cake for desert.
The U’s arrived at 4 pm. We exchanged new year greetings, chatted about this and that, then it was time for nabe. The menu was Shabushabu. The U’s did all the work. Pork and chicken mixed meat balls, fish, vegetables, etc. At last, in the great team work, they put cooked rice into the leftover soup, stir in beaten egges, and put the lid for a while for steaming. Ozousui was done. Everything tasted so good. Thanks the U’s, we got off to a good start of the year.(^o^)/
After dinner, I don’t know why but a battle play broke out with kids and adults altogether. We could have played until the next morning. In February, we are going to a snow mountain with them. Already excited, A-chan said, “I want to go skiing!” Dragon said, “I’m snowboarding!” Mao-chan and princess will be sleighing. How will the trip turn out to be? I’m excited to see that.
